Youth Programs

Our Youth Programs create a welcoming, supportive Jewish environment for our young people in grades 4-12 by providing educational, spiritual and relationship-building experiences. Our trained and dedicated staff members are positive Jewish role models and help ease the transition from child to young adult.

Our interactive coffee house program is back, so grab your friends and join the gang!  You can chooose to jam with the band, explore liturgy through art, talk Jews in sports, get a workout practicing Krav Maga, debate about current events, or learn to cook like Bubbe.  Beit Midrash is the ideal place to connect with WBTY friends and explore your connection to Jewish spirituality, traditions, and peoplehood. Beit Midrash is a dynamic community where teens grow and thrive.  Come on in - breakfast is served and the coffee is hot!

If you have not already registered and are interested in participating in Beit Midrash, please contact the Center for Learning and Engagement or enicastro@wbtla.org

The Wednesday Night Program
image

Through dinner, basketball, music, improv, art and creative Jewish learning, teens can be themselves, make new friends and learn in informal ways about Judaism and the world around them. This program provides positive role modeling for teens in a safe and comfortable environment. It is the place to be on Wednesday nights!

WBTY (Wilshire Boulevard Temple Youth)

WBTY is the senior youth group of Wilshire Boulevard Temple and is affiliated with the Reform movement’s youth program, NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth). Our programs offer a balance of social, educational and religious content, with events planned and facilitated completely by teens, for teens.

WBTY

Contrasting with Religious School or the Wednesday Night Program, WBTY is more of an open club for teens to join with no expectation of them other than to show up and have a great time. Events are local, regional and national.

WBTY is affiliated with the North American Federation of Temple Youth, NFTY. Visit the national site at www.nfty.org

Ozrim Job Program

Our enhanced OZRIM Job Program is uniquely designed to assist 8th-12th graders in developing the necessary tools to take on leadership roles in our community while providing opportunities for transformative personal growth.  This paid job program includes a job training and leadership development module in conjunction with the opportunity to work side-by-side each week with one of our talented Educators at the Center for Learning and Engagement.  Participants will further explore their connection with Jewish texts, traditions, and values, while serving as positive Jewish role models for our younger participants. Contact the office of the Center for Learning and Engagement or email David Green at dgreen@wbtla.org for more information.
